BROWSER COMPATIBILITY AND PLUG-INS:
Iowa Workforce Development Web site standards require users to have a Java/JavaScript-enabled browser version, i.e.,
Internet Explorer 7, FireFox 3, Safari 5, or Chrome 5 or greater. Our sites extensively use Portable Document
Format (PDF
files) that require the Adobe Acrobat Reader Version 9 or
later (Acrobat
Reader version help), utilize Flash and Shockwave
technology and the Microsoft Office suite.
Web pages are designed to be best viewed at screen monitor resolutions of
at least 1024 by 768 pixels using high color settings. Our
sites require users to have their computer hardware and software sufficiently
equipped and configured to properly render Web pages and associated
plug-in applications.
USING OUR ONLINE APPLICATIONS:
Our online applications as IowaJobs, filing an Unemployment Insurance Claim
and Employment Registration Services on our sites currently may not work using
a mobile device, WebTV, PDAs,
handheld computers and similar like systems. Browsers must have the
ability to accept cookies and have Java/JavaScript enabled. For
secure confidential information
transmissions, our sites utilize encryption technology using Secure
Socket Layer (SSL) technology.

Often, administrative permissions are required to
install programs or view files on your computer. Firewalls may be
configured to block certain types of files. These levels of security are
outside of our control.
STREAMING AUDIO/VIDEO:
Users may have problems accessing Windows Media servers outside their firewall.
This can resolved by opening both In/Out for TCP and UDP on port 1755 in
their firewall.
E-MAIL BROADCASTS
Iowa Workforce Development does not send unsolicited
e-mails. Our site offers users the ability to self-subscribe and
unsubscribe to news releases and other updates and notifications.
Invalid e-mail addresses, full mailboxes or other e-mail problems and
issues causing delivery problems will cause subscriptions to be removed
from our system.
ACCESSIBILITY:
Our Web sites are tested on Windows and Macintosh computers for functionality. We
strive to continually improve our sites
and make them accessible to persons with disabilities.
