Overview: The Great River Region Partnership (GRRP) was formed to build
long-term sustainable growth by taking a cooperative and regional
approach to economic development. Comprised of seven organizations, the
GRRP encompasses nearly 1,800 square miles in southeast Iowa.
During the past seven years, nearly 5,000 employees from over 50
regional companies have been permanently dislocated and regional
manufacturing employment has seen a startling decrease of over 20
percent. The fallout has dealt the region’s workers a cultural and
economic shock. It became clear that action must be taken in order to
transform the economic environment in order to develop a talent pool
prepared to respond positively to rapid change.
GRRP partners strive to foster a strong regional collaboration and
cooperation. GRRP will conduct an in-depth community assessment and
regional development plan, design a regional website and support
Laborshed analysis showing labor and employment trends and demographics.
