Graced with fields of green and natural beauty, the six-county area of Region 8 not only attracts an ever-growing number of visitors and new residents each year, but also exciting new industries and development.

Just a few examples of recent economic growth in Region 8 include Scranton Manufacturing in Scranton, Farmland Foods in Carroll and Denison, Louis Dreyfus in Grand Junction and Evapco in Lake View. 

Enhancing the region’s appeal are the recreational opportunities found at numerous parks, museums, libraries and places of historic interest.  Activities for the entire family abound.  Lakes and rivers for swimming and fishing, mile after mile of biking, hiking, and snowmobiling trails, and aquatic centers are just a few of the recreational activities available.

The area is served by several municipal airport, a multi-county regional transit system, state-of-the-art medical care, excellent schools, and the educational opportunities provided by Des Moines Area Community College, Buena Vista University, Western Iowa Tech Community College and other institutes of higher learning.

  • Employment Application (PDF) - If a job listing posted with Iowa Workforce Development requires completion of a "generic" job application, complete this Employment Application and send it to your nearest Workforce Development Center. Be sure to indicate both the employer name and job order number.

  • Service Application (PDF) - If you are interested in registering for Iowa Workforce Development services, including notification of current and future job openings, please complete this Service Application and send it to your nearest Workforce Development Center.
