Under the Workforce Investment Act of 1998, Region
6 partners joined forces to create and operate a Regional Workforce Development System. The goal of this system is to provide better customer service, choice and opportunity by integrating products and services.

Iowa Workforce Development links job placement and skill development into
a system of lifelong learning and opportunity. Through resources and
services created for employers, employees, and the unemployed, Iowans can

Iowa Valley Community College
District

Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services
Vocational rehabilitation services are provided through the Division of
Vocational Rehabilitation Services. The mission of the agency is to
work for and with individuals who have disabilities to achieve their
employment, independence and economic goals. Rehabilitation services
may include: medical and psychological assessment; technological
assessment; vocational assessment; counseling and guidance; physical
and/or mental restoration services that may include therapy, wheelchairs,
hearing aids, etc; special adaptive equipment or devices; training for
employment; occupational tools, equipment or licenses; planning for
self-employment; personal assistance; supported employment; job coaching;
job placement; follow-up after placement to assist with worker and
employer satisfaction. Services may also be provided after

Experience Works
Experience Works is a SCSEP provider to persons age 55 and older in areas of service,
employment and training opportunities. Certain guidelines
apply. Participants are provided with training, work experience,
educational opportunities, counseling and information that will help them
find and keep a job. Green Thumb's ultimate goal is to help all
participants improve their lives by obtaining employment. Visit

American Indian Council
Established in 1972, the American Indian Council is a private non-profit
organization that provides educational and employment services to Native

Proteus
Proteus is a private, non-profit corporation in the job training and job
placement business. Proteus is in business to assist low income
