Iowa Workforce Development
There are several New Iowan Centers
available to assist immigrants new to Iowa.
In Region 3 & 4 there is a New Iowan
Center in the Orange City Iowa Workforce Development Office,
400 Central
Ave NW Suite 1000. Other centers
are located in Sioux City, Muscatine, Ottumwa, Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, and Des Moines.
The centers will assist immigrants with completion of forms and documents, identify and coordinate support services, such as housing, transportation, legal services, counseling and interpretive services, coordinate delivery of English-as-a-Second Language (ESL) classes, and
provide employment related services, such as job placement, job-seeking skills/job-keeping skills, and individual counseling.
