Employers' Council

The Employers’ Council of Iowa is comprised of groups of employers who work in partnership with Iowa Workforce Development to meet the workforce needs of employers. For more information,
visit the Employers'
Council of Iowa site.
The eastern counties of Region 3&4 have two ECI groups meeting
on a regular basis. The Lakes Area Employers' Council holds regular monthly
meetings at various sites in Clay, Dickinson, Emmet and Palo Alto counties.
The Kossuth County Employers' Council meets each month in Algona.
Activities for both groups are planned
several months in advance, and include guest speakers, tours, and seminars
of interest to local employers. Recent seminars have covered COBRA and HIPAA, worker's compensation, and employee handbooks. Regular meeting
topics have addressed ethics in the workplace, labor market information, and
unemployment insurance from the employers' point of view.
