Veterans Services

Under federal law, veterans receive preferential assistance for job placement services, as well as other programs.  

IWD personnel in Region 2 work to ensure veteran’s preference is maintained and that core services are provided to veterans.  Core services include job interviewing and résumé writing skills, monitoring productive job searches, and accessing job listings through electronic databases.  When meeting with the veterans, referrals will be made to a Veterans Career Consultant  for intensive service cases.  The VCC will coordinate all services provided to veterans including counseling, testing and identifying training and employment opportunities.
