The One-Stop Center, known locally as the Workforce Development Partnership, is located at 600 South Pierce in Mason City. A Coordinating Service Provider (CSP) administers functions of the Center. The CSP consists of Iowa Workforce Development (IWD), North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC), and the Cerro Gordo and Floyd County Departments of Human Services (DHS).

Our Center was one of the first One-Stops in the state of Iowa. One-Stop customers are now able to access a wide variety of services at one location.

Development of the One-Stop was funded in part by state and federal dollars to develop a new customer-focused way to deliver workforce services. By offering these services in a convenient location, customers spend less time searching for the right place to go and more time using up-to-date services to get the answers to their questions.

The CSP administers IWD functions such as job placement assistance, unemployment insurance, unemployment tax liability services, services for veterans, labor market information, dislocated worker programs (Re-employment Services), proficiency testing, career guidance assessments, among others. NIACC administers the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) program, Welfare to Work, Economic Development, and Adult Basic Education/General Equivalency Diploma/English as a Second Language. DHS contracts out the PROMISE JOBS program to IWD and NIACC. For more information on these programs, call (641) 422-1524.

The Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services (IVRS) is a Partner agency co-located at the One Stop. IVRS provides counseling and guidance, training, and job placement assistance for persons identified as having a diagnosed disability. For more information on eligibility, call (641) 422-1551.

Other Regional partners include Creative Employment Options, Elderbridge, Green Thumb, Iowa Department for the Blind, Language Opportunities, North Iowa Vocational Center, and Proteus. Benefits Counseling for SSI and SSDI recipients is also available through a partnership with the Center.

The Mason City Workforce Development Center has a Resource Center available year-round, Monday, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Tuesday – Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Staff will direct you to computer software, publications and Internet sites that can help you research careers, schools, communities and obtain information regarding current workforce trends.
