The Mason City IowaWORKS Center is located at 600 South Pierce Avenue in Mason City. A Coordinating Service Provider (CSP) administers functions of the Center. The CSP consists of Iowa Workforce Development (IWD), North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC), and the Cerro Gordo and Floyd County Departments of Human Services (DHS).

Our Center was one of the first One-Stops in the state of Iowa. Our customers are able to access a wide variety of services at one location.

Development of the One-Stop was funded in part by state and federal dollars to develop a new customer-focused way to deliver workforce services. By offering these services in a convenient location, customers spend less time searching for the right place to go and more time using up-to-date services to get the answers to their questions.

The CSP administers IWD functions such as job placement assistance, unemployment insurance, unemployment tax liability services, services for veterans, labor market information, dislocated worker programs (Re-Employment Services), proficiency testing, career guidance assessments, among others. NIACC administers the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) program, Economic Development, and Adult Basic Education/General Equivalency Diploma/English as a Second Language. DHS contracts out the PROMISE JOBS program to IWD and NIACC. For more information on these programs, call 641 422-1524.

The Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services (IVRS) is a Partner agency co-located at the One Stop. IVRS provides counseling and guidance, training, and job placement assistance for persons identified as having a diagnosed disability. For more information on eligibility, call 641 422-1524, Ext. 44551.

Other Regional partners include  Experience Works, Iowa Department for the Blind, Job Corp, North Iowa Community Action, North Iowa Vocational Center, and Proteus. Benefits Counseling for SSI and SSDI recipients is also available through a partnership with the Center. For access to services from 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Monday thru Friday and 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM on Saturday,
 please call 866-239-0843

The NIACC Career Counseling and Employment Center located on the NIACC campus at 500 College Drive, Mason City provides many services to students.

All students are invited to make an appointment for free individual career counseling which assists them in identifying their overall career direction and educational goals.

IowaWORKS representatives help students individually with job search skills. Assistance is offered with completing applications, developing cover letters and resumes, interview preparation, and much more.
IowaWORKS representatives are on campus weekly or you may visit your local IowaWORKS office. To schedule an appointment for either career counseling or IowaWORKS assistance, contact the Student access Center at 641-422-4413.
