Iowa Workforce Development will provide quality, customer-driven services that support prosperity, productivity, health and safety for Iowans.
Services for employers in the seven-county area of Region 2 (Winnebago, Worth, Mitchell, Hancock, Cerro Gordo, Floyd, and Franklin) include:

Recruiting WDP staff seeks to match job seekers against the employment needs of prospective employers, and to make appropriate referrals. No fees are charged. Jobs listed with IWD are posted in local offices, and on several Internet sites:

Smart Career Move is for jobs paying a minimum of $30,000 per year.

Outreach Region 2 has an Economic Development Director to provide area employers assistance with recruitment and training needs, coordination of large-scale recruitment such as the Career & Employment Fairs, and marketing of WDP
products and services.

Career and Employment Fairs Annual career & employment fairs are held in Region 2, offering employers and job seekers the opportunity to interact at a single location. Please contact us for details.

Testing Services Planning on hiring a new secretary who must be able to type 65 words per minute? WDP staff can administer – at no charge to the employer or job seeker – proficiency tests for typing, 10 key and data entry.

Reverse Referrals This service directs all interested job seekers to apply for openings at the WDP offices, freeing the employer’s time for other
tasks.

Tax Credits The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) and Welfare to Work Tax Credit (WtWTC) offers employers federal income tax credit if they hire persons from certain qualified groups, such as the low income or disabled.

Labor Market
Information Current Labor Market Information (make this a link to the LMI page on the agency home page) is available on various economic trends and occupations, including data on prevailing wage rates and projected job outlooks.

Work
Permits The WDP staff authorizes Work Permits and Certificates of Age for young people seeking to enter the job market.

Required
Posters General requirements and ordering information is available for state and federal required employer posters. These posters are available at no cost to the public from WDP.

Business Closings/Downsizing Should your business experience closing or restructuring, IWD staff and its partners are ready to help employees make the transition to other employment. Laid off workers are provided access to services, including financial support and training.
