Job Seeker and Customer Services

You don't have to be unemployed to use the
services provided by Iowa Workforce Development. Iowa Workforce Development will contribute to Iowa's economic growth by providing quality customer-driven services that support prosperity, productivity, health and safety for Iowans.
Services for job seekers in Region 15 include:
Unemployment - All Region 15 permanent offices take claims for
Unemployment
Insurance. Unemployment claims can also be filed via the
Internet from any connected PC, such as your own home, 24 hours a
day, 7 days a week. Click on the above link for information on
filing and eligibility. In addition customers can file for
benefits on the computers in the IWD offices.
Resource Centers - IWD has PCs available to the public at all
permanent locations for use in developing résumés, exploring
career options, identifying skills, proficiency testing, and
tutorials. A number of Internet-based job seeking tools are
available, as well as access to employer Web sites and IWD job
postings. We also have a number of brochures and pamphlets. There
is no cost for any of these services. An IWD PC is also available
at Indian Hills Workforce Development on the Indian Hills
Community College campus.
Business Closings/Downsizing Should your place of work
experience a closing or restructuring, IWD staff and its partners
are ready to help you make the transition to other employment.
Laid-off workers are provided access to services, including
financial support and training. The new
Iowa Advantage
program is specifically designed for this purpose.
Veteran's Services - Our
Veteran's Services
Representative coordinates all services provided to veterans,
including counseling, testing, and identifying training and
employment opportunities.
