The Southwest Iowa Employers’ Council is comprised of groups of
employers who work in partnership with Iowa Workforce Development to
meet the workforce needs of employers. For more information, visit the

The Southwest Iowa Employers' Council holds regular monthly meetings at
various sites in Pottawattamie, Cass, Page, Shelby, Fremont, Mills and
Harrison counties.
Training sessions are planned several months in advance, and include
guest speakers, tours, and seminars of interest to local employers and
human resource professionals. Recent seminars have covered Employee
Documentation & Discharge, I-9 Updates, Drug & Alcohol Testing in the
Workplace, OSHA training and employee handbooks. Regular meeting topics
have addressed labor market information, unemployment insurance from the
employers' point of view and independent contractor misclassification.
