Iowa residents can meet their educational needs through many different regional institutions and agencies. The following is a partial listing of educational resources in our area.

Kirkwood Community College (KCC) is a progressive, comprehensive community college in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  To learn more about Kirkwood Community College, visit the college’s Web site at www.kirkwood.cc.ia.us.

New Horizons Computer Learning Center of Cedar Rapids, part of  the World's largest IT training company, combines multiple learning methods for more effective results.  Students enrolled in one of our Career Training Programs earn various vendor certifications (e.g. Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, etc.) to validate their computer knowledge and prepare them for a professional career in the computer industry.  Students also have the benefit of completing an internship at one of several Companies in Eastern Iowa to provide real-world experience through job shadowing, mentoring and hands-on task accomplishment.  To learn more about New Horizons of Cedar Rapids, visit their web site at www.newhorizonscr.com  or call 319-294-9035, Ext. 349.

Grant Wood Area Education Agency, Cedar Rapids, is a regional educational agency serving students K-12. For more information, GWAEA’s Web site address is www.aea10.k12.ia.us/.

Experience Works (formerly known as Green Thumb) pays class tuition for age and income eligible persons needing education for employability purposes.  While taking classes, clients are paid hourly wages for each hour in class.  Classes may be taken at educational institutions or private vendor training.  To be eligible person must be 55 years or older.
