Iowa has received a National Emergency Grant to implement the Emergency Public Jobs program designed to put Iowans in counties affected by last summer’s floods and tornadoes back to work. Workforce Investment Act staff coordinate the program within Iowa’s workforce system. Counties included in the program are shown on the map.

Program Requirements:

  • Wages will be paid at the prevailing wage for the worksite.
  • Individuals will be provided with necessary tools to complete the work, safety training and will be required to complete a physical.
  • Individuals may work for 1,040 hours (approximately 6 months)

To participate in the program, contact your local Workforce Investment Act provider.
