2012 Re-Entry Career and Community Resource Fair
Believing In The Power To Change, Building Lives, and Changing Minds!

DES MOINES - Iowa Workforce Development, along with the Iowa Department of Corrections, U.S. Federal Probation, and IowaWORKS will sponsor the 4th annual Reentry Career and Community Resource fair to be held on Friday, March 30, 2012 at the Botanical Center 909 Robert D Ray Drive Des Moines, IA 50316 from 11:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. There will be an Opening Awards Ceremony in the Botanical Dome from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M.

This event will be open to the public but is intended to give job opportunities to ex-offenders as well as provide resource information that will assist them within the community. National statistics show lack of employment opportunities is the single greatest reason for high recidivism rates that translate into an increase in crimes each year and wasted taxpayer dollars, both of which can be averted through gainful employment for an offender.

If you are a company who believes in “Second Chances” and would like to contribute to the ability of these job seekers to turn their lives around please contact Brenda Tart at (515) 967-4236 ext 1293. Additionally, please visit our website at www.iowaworkforce.org to learn more about fidelity bonding at no cost for the first six months on any offender hired as well as tax credits for the employer.
