IowaWORKS Youth Job Fair

Cedar Rapids, Iowa IowaWORKS is hosting a Youth Job Fair on February 23rd, 2012 from 4-6 p.m. The location is the Cedar Rapids IowaWORKS Center in the lower level of Lindale Mall below Younkers (4444 1st Ave. NE Ste. 436).

The Youth Job Fair is open to the public and will feature 20 local employers who are currently hiring youth under 18 years of age. For a complete list of registered employers, visit online. Some major employers include the City of Cedar Rapids Recreation, Mercy Medical Center, Hy-Vee, Nordstrom Direct, RuffaloCODY, and the Cedar Rapids Kernels. This annual Job Fair brought in a record 600 youth last year.

IowaWORKS is also providing a workshop to prepare students for this Job Fair. This workshop will be held on February 21st from 4-5 p.m. at the Cedar Rapids IowaWORKS Center. Topics will cover the basics of filling out job applications, preparing for interviews, and tips on making a great first impression when meeting with a potential employer. Those who complete this workshop will receive a certificate of completion and recognition on their name badge at the fair.
