ICAP Workforce Services Hosts Open House
DES MOINES – Iowa Workforce Development has partnered with the Strengthen Rural Iowa, a federal partnership, to locate an Iowa Career Access Point (ICAP) in Burlington. The access point creates an additional entrance point into the workforce system for individuals at familiar community locations.
“Workforce services are needed now more than ever,” stated Elisabeth Buck, Iowa Workforce Development Director. “Utilizing these unique partnerships allows us to bring our services to more Iowans.”
By utilizing current community service providers and volunteers trained within the ICAP system, Iowa is able to provide cohesive workforce services to a broader audience within local communities not currently served with a satellite workforce office. Community members will receive assistance with job search techniques, résumé development, filing unemployment claims and other workforce related services.
The new ICAP location will host an open house on Tuesday, November 16th from 6:00-8:00PM to showcase the new location and update the community on the services available.
The Burlington ICAP is located at the Zion United Church of Christ, at 412 N. 5th Street, serving individuals from 9:30 – 11:30 Monday thru Friday; 5:00 – 7:00PM on Monday thru Tuesday; and by appointment.
