Ten Hour OSHA General Industrial Safety Training Certificate Course
ORANGE CITY - The Upper Northwest Iowa Employers’ Council, in conjunction with Iowa Workforce Development, is offering a “Ten Hour OSHA General Industrial Safety Training Certificate” session in September for employers who are interested in promoting safety in their workplace. The training session will be led by Mike Whitmore, Compliance Assistance Specialist with the Iowa Department of Labor, Iowa Workforce Development.
Course: Ten Hour OSHA General Industrial Safety Training Certificate Course
Date: September 21 and 22, 2010: Tuesday the 21st from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm and Wednesday the 22nd from 8:00 am to Noon.
Location: 400 Central Ave NW, Orange City, Iowa. Lower level rooms 2 and 3. Use the East Entrance on Central Ave.
Cost: $25.00 per person includes materials, lunch and refreshments.

• Introduction to OSHA standards
• Walking/Working Surfaces/Falls
• Means of Egress/Fire Protection
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)/Welding/Hazardous Materials
• Materials Handling/Back Ergonomics
• Machine Guarding
• Hazard Communication
• OSHA Recordkeeping

This program has been approved for 8.0 (General) credit hours towards PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI). A certificate of attendance will be provided at the training session.
The Upper Northwest Iowa Employers’ Council is a local employer group supported by Iowa Workforce Development Region 3 and 4 and is part of the statewide Employers’ Council of Iowa system. All businesses are invited to attend these sessions. This employers’ group addresses workforce issues, and provides both educational and networking opportunities for employers and human resource professionals.
