Employer Workshop on ADA/FMLA/Workers’ Compensation:
The Bermuda Triangle of Employment Law

Dubuque, IA - Employers Council of Northeast Iowa (ECI), in partnership with IowaWORKS, Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) and Dubuque Area Labor Management Council, are offering an exciting workshop on ADA/FMLA/Workers’ Compensation: The Bermuda Triangle of Employment Law.

The application and intersection of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and workers’ compensation law baffle even the most seasoned human resource professional. Hear three Iowa experts discuss these laws in practical workplace settings.

Guest Speakers include: Tom Good, Training Specialist, Iowa Civil Rights Commission, J.R. Schemmel, Investigator, U.S. Department of Labor, Ron Pohlman, Deputy Commissioner, Iowa Workers’ Compensation Division, Barbara Tapscott, Moderator, Attorney, Iowa Workforce Development.

This workshop will be offered on the following dates and times:

• Thursday, October 7, 2010 from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the Dairy Education Center, Room 115, at 1527 Hwy 150 South in Calmar, Iowa.

• Friday, October 8, 2010 from 8:30 am – 11:30 am at NICC/IowaWORKS, 680 Main Street, Second Floor, Room 200, Dubuque, Iowa.

Cost: $24.00 (including pending HRCI credits)
