Washington Iowa Workforce Development Office – Temporary Reduction in Hours

Washington, Iowa – Iowa Workforce Development relocated to the Pohaku building at 1201 Industrial Park Drive in December 2009 and has offered services for walk-in customers two days per week. “There is a demand and a need for the workforce services offered in the Washington center and others across the state,” says Brenda Dodge, Manager of the Iowa City and Washington IWD offices. In fact, she says that, “IWD has seen an increase in customers served in the new location by both job seekers and business customers.”

IWD is committed to serve the Washington community; however, she reports that a number of retirements throughout the organization will have an impact on the ability to sustain the current level of service. There will be several retirements in the Washington, Iowa City and Cedar Rapids office this month, including Susan Clark in the Washington Center.

Effective the week of June 28, 2010 our service hours will be reduced to Thursday’s from 9:00 – 3:00 p.m. through the end of August. IWD is committed to serve the Washington community and will return to offering services twice weekly as the position is filled.
