GENERAL INDUSTRY Ten Hour OSHA Safety Training Certificate Course IN SPANISH
Council Bluffs: The Southwest Iowa Employers’ Council (ECI) in conjunction with Iowa Workforce Development is offering a “Ten Hour OSHA Safety Training Certificate—General Industry” training session IN SPANISH for employers who are interested in promoting safety in their workplace. This training session will be led by Silvanna Heilmann, Compliance Assistance Specialist with the Iowa Dept of Labor, Iowa Workforce Development. SHARP and VPP are company recognition programs for safety and health management awarded by the Commissioner of Labor on behalf of the Governor of Iowa. Employers should note that this program is completely separate from the IOSH Enforcement staff, no citations are issued or penalties proposed, and it is confidential.
Ten Hour OSHA Safety Training Certificate Course - General Industry Class in SPANISH
April 28 & 29, 2010: Wednesday the 28th 9:00 am to 2:30 pm & Thursday the 29th 9 am to 2:30 pm
Location: Bass Pro Shop Outdoor World, 2901 Bass Pro Drive, Council Bluffs, IA.
Cost: $25.00 per person includes program expenses, lunch & refreshments

• Introduction to OSHA standards
Pre-registration is requested by Friday April 23rd by contacting Carol Morgan at (712) 242-2131 or . This program has been approved for 10.0 (General) recertification credit hours towards the PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through HRCI.

Iowa Workforce Development will commit its resources to Iowa’s prosperity by working to ensure the income security, productivity, safety and health of all Iowans. One goal is to reduce the incidence of injury or illness to workers by enhancing the ability to identify and control safety and health hazards. Employers can learn about potential hazards at their worksites and improve their occupational safety and health management systems by using IOSHA’s consultation services and training opportunities.
The Southwest IA Employers’ Council is a local employer group supported by Iowa Workforce Development Region 13 including Harrison, Shelby, Pottawattamie, Mills, Cass, Freemont and Page counties, and is part of the statewide Employers’ Council of Iowa system. All businesses, including Iowa, Nebraska and Missouri employers are welcome to attend ECI events. This employers’ group addresses workforce issues, and provides both educational and networking opportunities for employers and human resource professionals.
