Shoes for Veterans

SIOUX CITY - The Sioux City Iowa Workforce Development Center will host their 2nd Annual “Shoes for Veterans” Drive on November 10, 2009 from 10 am to 3 pm at the Sioux City Scottish Rite (Lower Level), 801 Douglas Street. The purpose of this event is to provide assistance to area veterans and their families in need, especially those who are homeless, unemployed or disabled. Complimentary food and beverages will be served. This event is open to our area veterans and their families at no cost.

On behalf of the Siouxland area veterans, we are asking for your help. We are seeking donations of new or slightly used shoes/boots, miscellaneous winter clothing items and/or gift certificates for such items. We need men’s, women’s and children’s shoes/boots of various sizes.

We believe that “Shoes for Veterans” is a simple way to provide some cheer and gratitude to our area veterans. Your support will be greatly appreciated. We thank you for considering our request and your participation to pay tribute to the men and women and their families who have made the supreme sacrifice to defend our great country.

If you have any questions or would like to make donations/contributions, please contact Dave Girard at (712) 233-9033 ext. 1015, or via e-mail at
