Iowa Workforce Development Encourages Iowans to use IowaJobs.org
Mason City, Iowa – Whether looking for a job or seeking to hire qualified applicants, Iowa Workforce Development encourages Iowans to begin their search with IowaJobs.org.
"By using IowaJobs.org, employers and job seekers can take advantage of the many services we provide," said Elisabeth Buck, Director of Iowa Workforce Development. "IowaJobs.org offers something for everyone statewide."
At any given time, over 13,000 jobs are posted. Many of Iowa’s top employers have their job openings automatically added to IowaJobs.org directly from their web sites. This ensures that only the most current jobs are posted.
Employers can take advantage of the screening options available to ensure only qualified applicants. They can also save time by having Iowa Workforce Development staff manage their job postings. In addition, employers can find access to labor market information along with other employment data.
Due to an area employer’s shutdown, a male worker was experiencing difficulty securing gainful employment. After working with the staff at the Mason City Workforce Center, he was able to take a job skills assessment evaluation. The staff then assisted him with developing a functional résumé and cover letter. He was also trained on how to conduct a job search using IowaJobs.org. He was contacted by a local employer through IowaJobs.org and was offered the position.
This is just one example of what IowaJobs.org offers for area employers. To learn more about how IowaJobs.org can help you, contact the Mason City Workforce Development Center at (641) 422-1524.
