Community Invited to Social Security Work Incentive Program Workshop

Des Moines, IA – A workshop will be held on Thursday, October 23rd to present information regarding the Social Security Work Incentives Program and the Home and Community based Waiver services program.

Held in the Botanical Center Willow Room from 1-6 p.m., this workshop is an informative presentation aimed at sharing information about how an individual’s Social Security Disability Insurance or SSI benefits will be affected by working. This workshop will also help individuals who are receiving services through Iowa Waiver Programs. Admission is free and open to the public.

Workshop Agenda:

1:00-1:30: Sign-in and Introductions
1:30-3:00: Social Security Work Incentives
3:00-3:30: Area Employment Networks
3:30-4:00: Refreshments
4:00-5:15: Home and Community Based Services
5:15-6:00: Evaluation and individual sessions with presenters and providers

This workshop is sponsored by the Iowa Medicaid Infrastructure Grant and is supported by Iowa Workforce Development, in coordination with Iowa Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services, Iowa Department for the Blind, Iowa Department of Education, Iowa Department of Human Services, Iowa Division of Persons with Disabilities and the Iowa Governor’s Council on Developmental Disability.
