Sioux City, IOWA – Jeanne Sorenson – Wright, Workforce Programs Coordinator with Iowa Workforce Development will be speaking on the subject of Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC). Employers’ Council and Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) will be hosting this meeting. The event will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2007, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. The location is at the Lohff Schuman Community Center at 301 Lohff Schuman Dr, Holstein, IA.
Learn about the rural renewal tax credit that allows a tax credit for hiring individuals, age 18-39, who live in the following Iowa counties: Audubon, Calhoun, Cherokee, Ida, & Sac. This new legislation authorizes eligible employers to claim up to $2,400 in work opportunity tax credits (WOTC) by employing 18-39 year-old residents of rural renewal counties.
