DES MOINES - Iowa Workforce Development recently launched a new eFile & Pay system, the Unemployment Insurance Tax System (UITS). UITS allows employers doing business in the State of Iowa to electronically file their quarterly Employer's Contribution & Payroll Report and pay their Unemployment Insurance contributions online.

“The new online filing system provides employers with an enhanced, electronic option for their quarterly filings,” indicated Dave Neil, Iowa Workforce Development Interim Director. “This is phase one of the project, and additional enhancements will be available for employers in the future.”

UITS assists employers by calculating taxable wages and contributions due based on information provided through an interactive, online system. Employers can pay their Unemployment Insurance contributions by eCheck, Credit Card (MasterCard only) or paper check with a payment remittance voucher.

Additional system features include:
- "Save and return" for re-entry at a later time.
- Import wage data files to minimize manual entry of employees and wage information.
- Help features guiding user through the online filing process.

If you have questions about UITS, contact UITS Help Desk at 888-848-7442 (888-UITS4IA) or e-mail . For general UI Tax questions, contact UI Tax at (515) 281-5339 or toll free (800) 972-2024.
