available for Iowa and each Iowa
Workforce Development Region.
The Industry Projections provide detailed industry
information on the estimated activity for each industry in
the areas of employment, new jobs, replacements and total annual
openings.

First Quarter Job Growth Parallels
Year Ago Trend
Job growth for first quarter closely paralleled the year ago pattern. Much
like last year, hiring was stronger in January and February, and then
tapered off in March. A total of 10,500 nonfarm jobs were added to the Iowa
economy during first quarter compared to 9,800 for the same period one year
ago.

2008 Schedule For
Unemployment Rate News Release
The dates of unemployment rate news releases for 2007
are available. The release of the
Statewide Unemployment Rate and the release of the Local Area Unemployment Rates
will occur around the fourth Tuesday of the month.
