Iowa Safe Youth @ Work

Iowa Workforce Development and Employers' Council of Iowa sponsored two
one-day Train-the-Trainer sessions on Youth @ Work: Teaching Teens About
Safety and Health in the Workplace March 26-27, 2007. Staff from the
National Young Worker Safety Resource Center* trained state agency
staff, teachers, and job placement professionals in the use of Youth @
Work: Talking Safety, a 3-5 hour curriculum which teaches high school
students basic information about occupational safety and health.
The curriculum was developed by the
National

Teens are often injured
on the job due to unsafe equipment or stressful conditions. Many
teens do not receive adequate safety training and supervision. It is
important to find out about hazards your job might have, your rights
on the job, and how you can protect yourself.
