Question :
If I’m going to school full-time, do I still have to make a work search?

Answer :
Please provide your class schedule to your local Iowa Workforce Development office. If you are approved by Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) staff for Department Approved Training (DAT) you do not have to be available for work or search for work to continue to be eligible for benefits. However, you must be able and available to attend school. If you stop training for any reason, you must notify IWD and immediately search for work as instructed. If you have any questions please contact your local Iowa Workforce Development office. Quitting a job to attend school could be a disqualification for unemployment insurance benefits.
