Spencer ECI Meeting
Barbara Tapscott, Attorney, and
Craig Immerfall, Business Services Representative, Iowa Workforce
Development, presented “Drafting Employee Handbooks and Job
Descriptions” workshops in Algona and Spencer on October 21. The
workshops were sponsored by the Iowa Lakes Employers’ Council of
Iowa (ECI) and the Kossuth County ECI. A total of 64 individuals
attended the two sessions.
Items presented at the workshops included:
• A discussion on writing and updating employee handbooks
• What should and should not be in an employee handbook
• Developing accurate, informative, and legal job descriptions
• Time-saving tips and resources available to help in the drafting
process
Questions were also entertained by Barbara and Craig.
