Under the Workforce Investment Act of 1998, Region 12 partners joined forces to create and operate a Regional Workforce Development System. The goal of this system is to provide better customer service, choice and opportunity by integrating products and services. The following links will help support individuals with disabilities by providing useful information that will enhance career opportunities.

The Region 12 Partnership is composed of state agencies and regional organizations committed to working together to improve accessibility as well as providing better customer service, choice and opportunity by integrating products and services. Partner agencies that focus specifically on employment for people with disabilities in Region 12 include, Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services, Iowa Department for the Blind, Western Iowa Tech Community College. Region 12 serves residents in Woodbury, Ida, Monona, Cherokee and Plymouth counties. This collaborative partnership of state and local agencies received a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor and the Social Security Administration to create new positions for Iowa's Workforce Development Centers called "Disability Program Navigators." Disability program navigators will not duplicate services offered by agencies supporting local workforce services.
