Heading for IWD Description

Iowa Workforce Development (IWD), in cooperation with its many partner organizations, operates offices ("Find Your Nearest Office") that serve all 99 Iowa counties. Each region contains a workforce center that offers a one-stop experience for accessing many programs, products and services for job seekers, employers, students, economic developers and other community stakeholders.

IWD’s core services include job placement services for individuals; worker recruitment assistance to employers; training services to low-income and disadvantaged Iowans; worker protection and safety programs (inspections, consultation and education services); unemployment insurance programs and services; workers’ compensation benefits/entitlement; information regarding choices about careers, industries, labor availability, wages and employment outlook; and technical assistance for employers. The bold faced items represent those topics referred to as labor market information.

This site is designed to showcase the many services offered and publications produced by the labor market information staff. Contacts are provided, as well as how to access material.

A great deal of labor market information is grouped by one of IWD's 15 regions.  The map below illustrates the current regional structure as of July 1, 2006.  Former Regions 3 and 4 have now merged into one region entitled "Region 3-4."  Most publications and services are offered at no charge, while a few are nominally-priced.
