The Bureau of Research and Performance Planning produce information that
is intended to support the state’s economic development efforts and
analyze unemployment insurance statistical data.
Economic development products of the Division include the Fringe
Benefits Profile, Iowa College Student Survey, Laborshed Studies,
Workforce Needs Assessment (Job Vacancy), and various analyses on
industry clustering, dislocated workers and educational outcomes
measures.
Unemployment insurance statistical data are used for federal workload
reporting; determining triggers for extended benefits programs,
describing the size and scope of the UI program on local economies, and
as an economic indicator. This research also includes unemployment
insurance trust fund statistics, trust fund solvency analysis, and
employer contribution statistics.
