OSHA General Industry and Construction Standards
The web site versions of OSHA
standards are electronic copies of the standards as published in the Code of
Federal Regulations (CFR). OSHA intends for these versions to be exact
copies of the standards as they appear in the CFR. OSHA's support

STANDARD CHANGES ADOPTED:
The Labor Commissioner has
adopted by reference recent changes to the federal
structural steel and hexavalent chromium standards. In

Labor Commissioner has proposed to adopt by reference recent
changes to the federal occupational safety and health standards

Iowa OSHA enforces 29 CFR 1910, 1926
and 1928 as adopted by reference by the Division of
Labor. This agency investigates safety and health complaints in
construction and general industry, fatalities/catastrophes and performs general scheduled

The Compliance
Assistance Specialist is available to answer your questions regarding
recordkeeping, OSHA regulations, Partnerships and Alliances, and is a

provide outreach and training on OSHA topics at seminars, safety
meetings and conferences.
Iowa OSHA follows
federal OSHA's Compliance Letters (CPL's), Memos, Instructions and
Directives as guidelines to provide assistance to compliance officers,
employers and employees on the enforcement of OSHA standards.
Most federal CPL's are adopted by Iowa OSHA; the following CPL's have
been developed and adopted by Iowa OSHA as "equally effective as"
written guidelines:
