Amusement Ride Inspections

The Division of Labor inspects amusement rides and concessions at least once annually to assure compliance with state rules.  In 2007, the Division of Labor issued 107 permits and conducted 1,626 inspections.  An operator must obtain a permit from the labor commissioner before operating any amusement device or ride, concession booth or any related electrical equipment in Iowa.

A rollercoaster ride

Water parks are regulated as swimming pools by the Iowa Department of Public Health.  Click here for information about water park regulations in Iowa.
