Statewide Partner Initiatives Designed To Include People with Disabilities In The Workforce

There are several Federal Grants in Iowa directed at more fully including people with disabilities in our work force. These include:

Pilot the Introduction of Career Benefits Counseling Services in Workforce Services

Enhance the Benefits Planning Resources Available in Iowa Centers, Including Advocacy Organizations in Service Delivery
Medicaid Infrastructure Grant

Introduce a Support System for Iowa Workforce Customers Where the Use of Iowa’s Medicaid Waiver is Involved
Iowa Work Incentive Grant

Identify and Eliminate Barriers Restricting Utilization of Iowa’s One-Stop Center System by Persons with Disabilities

Iowa Workforce Development is a partner in the planning and implementation of each of these initiatives and serves as the lead agency for the Work Incentive Grant. These initiatives have been coordinated planning efforts, so the implementation of each of these projects will have the optimum impact of fully engaging Iowans with disabilities in our workforce.
